By Direct Commerce | Publication date: 27/01/2012 | Category: News

Morrisons-owned Kiddicare.com has agreed to acquired 10 former Best Buy stores from Carphone Warehouse. Kiddicare.com then plans to invest some £15 million to convert the stores. The deal will extend Kiddicare’s bricks-and-mortar reach beyond its current flagship store in Peterborough and see around 700 new jobs created across the UK. Kiddicare will choose the first location to open through social-media interaction with customers.

Fashion retailer H&M says that despite sales increasing 8 percent in the year to 30th November 2011, net profits fell 15 percent, from 18.68 billion Swedish kronor to 15.82 billion kronor (£1.49 billion). Nevertheless, the company remains upbeat about the months ahead and is planning further expansion.

Fortnum & Mason has apologised for asking a customer to send his credit-card details via email. The Guardian has more on the story.

Van Meuwen, Thompson & Morgan and Gardening Express are among the companies mentioned in a Telegraph article on mail order flowers.
