
Royal Mail and the Communications Workers Union have tentatively agreed a deal to end the pay and modernisation dispute. Postal workers will receive a 6.9 percent pay rise over the next three years; in turn the union will cooperate with Royal Mail’s modernisation programme, reports the Guardian. Another clause of the deal is that the cap on unaddressed mail a postie can deliver—currently set at three pieces per household—is to be lifted.
