Shop Direct appoints new chief exec

Shop Direct Group, the online and home shopping retailer, has announced the appointment of Alex Baldock (pictured), formerly managing director of asset finance company Lombard, as its new chief executive officer. He will join in September 2012 and take over from Mark Newton-Jones, who announced his decision to move on to new challenges after almost nine years as chief executive at Shop Direct in January this year.
