Vente-Privee sees 10 percent of
turnover from mobile channel
web imageSecret-sales website Vente-Privee says it will generate €100 million ($132 million, £86 million) in sales from its m-commerce presence in 2011. In other words, more than 10 percent of the company’s total global turnover is now generated by the mobile channel, via Vente-Privee’s iPhone, iPad, Windows and Android apps. The etailer also has a mobile-optimised website and says that more than 240,000 people visit the site from a mobile phone each day.

Tesco takes clothing website to Europe

• Online garden company Nicky's Nursery is expanding its business in the UK and Europe with next-day parcel deliveries from APC Overnight. APC has also installed an online parcel booking and tracking system NetDespatch to help expedite fulfilment.
• Apparel retailer White Stuff will open its first store in Copenhagen, Denmark next month and is actively recruiting staff for its store. White Stuff first entered the Scandinavian market in 2008 through a wholesale offering.
• German mail order firm Neckermann is using California-based Tealeaf’s software to improve conversion rates on its website through better visibility of the online customer experience.
• UK-based ecommerce services provider EKMPowershop has launched a Spanish version of its shopping cart solution.
Timberland, the outdoor apparel retailer, is using Kiva Systems to automate all wholesale, retail and direct-to-consumer fulfilment in its new European distribution centre.
Swiss Post has created the International Holiday Calendar 2012. The planner can be downloaded from Swiss Post’s website and is designed to provide an overview of school and public holidays in 20 European countries.
