Best of the blog 2010

By Miri Thomas | Publication date: 14/12/2010 | Category: Views > CataBLOGue e-business

A distinct theme ran through the most-popular blog posts on our website this year—and it will be something we expand on in 2011. But for now, here are the seven most popular articles on the CataBLOGue e-business part of our website, by visits.

1. Compare and contrast: Lush
In a nutshell—comparing Lush’s American site with its UK website in the run up to Easter.

2. Prospecting by retargeting
In a nutshell—how Screwfix is using personalised recommendation engines and tracking technology to drive online sales.

3. Compare and contrast: Damart
In a nutshell—playing spot the difference with Damart’s UK and US websites

4. Then and now: Glasses Direct
In a nutshell—another popular compare and contrast blog post, this time examining a 2010 Glasses Direct catalogue and one mailed in 2008.

5. Compare and contrast: Simply Be
In a nutshell—you’ve guessed it; we discuss Simply Be’s new US website and how it compares with its UK counterpart.

6. What we learnt from 188 pre-Mother's Day emails
In a nutshell—we received 188 emails in the days leading up to Mother’s Day 2010, yet more than half of them made no reference to Mother’s Day at all.

7. Idea to steal: outfit builders
In a nutshell—outfit builders are usually the preserve of fashion catalogues, but we like this take from bicycles and accessories merchant Evans Cycles.
