Dart’s data--the multichannel retailer

By James Dart | Publication date: 26/03/2012 | Category: Views > CataBLOGue e-business

This week’s Dart’s data takes a look at an interesting YUDU survey and a study by eSellerPro.

YUDU Media, the digital publishing solutions provider, has revealed that retailers are seeing significant iPad basket size increases across all merchandise departments with the average iPad catalogue retailer experiencing a 50 percent rise in basket size. The YUDU survey also found that the average online iPad catalogue experiences 2,500 individual customer views per week and 35 percent of all visitors voluntarily choose to register their personal details for future marketing purposes.

A study by ecommerce software provider eSellerPro shows that 87 percent of UK retailers feel the high street will continue to fall behind in 2012. The survey also shows that around 90 percent of retailers are planning to implement a social or mobile strategy at some point this year. Another top priority for SME retailers was international expansion with 40 percent planning to grow their business internationally over the coming year.
